God's Eyes are Always On You!

"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9)

I was speaking with a dear sister in Christ a couple weeks ago, who shared the testimony of a "diving appointment," that is to say a run in with a person that is so crazy it cannot be a coincidence but an appointment guided and directed by God. It was really encouraging. So a couple days later I was in line at Starbucks and was reminded of our conversation, so I prayed a simple prayer, "God give me a divine appointment." I turned around and right there behind me was a former youth student who is not walking with the Lord right now! Amazing! 3 Times this week, on the day I simply pray, "I want to tell someone about you Lord" it happens. I don't even have to try, God just makes it happen...

Yesterday I had another divine appointment. I met a surfer at the harbor, and felt prompted to ask him, "So where do you fellowship?" The next hour of conversation was amazing, as this believer has been not set foot in church for the last 2 years! This guy was so blessed and sensed the Love of God, and said, "Though we may take our eyes off God, His Eyes are always on you!"

How true! The Lord is not slack toward us, He never takes His eyes off us! And though He desires no person on earth to perish, it does not take away from how much He loves those who trust Him, and though we may take our eyes off Him, He never takes His eyes off us!

Eyes off Self

If we were to travel the speed of light (86,000 Miles per second) it would take us 6 minutes to get to the sun and 100,000 years to travel the length of our own galaxy, Which is only 1 out of millions in the Universe. We are microscopic. We are so small that we are nothing in the sight of God who is beyond our universe. He is awesome, He is Mighty, He is worthy! Would you give your life for a spec of dust? Though we are smaller than a speck of dust in His sight, He still loved us enough to take our penalty of death upon Himself! (Romans 5:8)

I have personally been in the midst of the most despairing and poor people on planet earth, and yet I must say with all honesty, they are indeed the richest people on planet earth! As I worshipped with these dear brothers and sisters in Jesus, I was humbled beyond all comprehension, because it was at that point that I became aware of the reality, I didn't get it. I have never seen people worship the God of the Universe with such passion, reverence, adoration and joy! It was not emotional, it was a deep, sincere acknowledgement of who God is, and anticipation and excitement regarding what is to shortly come.

I believe we are seeing the end unfold before our eyes, but we are so consumed with ourselves that we lack worship. We are consumed with our careers, our comforts, our earthly desires, therefore we don't desire God. We don’t desire the life that is found in Him. We don’t desire the heavenly dwelling that Jesus promised to those who trust Him. My prayer for us, is that we would simply take your eyes off of ourselves. That we could behold the beauty, might and the awe of all Who God is. To seek brokenness, repentance, and a deep filling of the Spirit that only God can give. Let us give God the attention that He deserves. Not motivated by the experience that we want out of it. Whether we feel anything or not is not the point. The point is that God is, and therefore He is worthy to receive all honor, glory and praise.

Amazing Guitar Action

video

Last night Manic Drive played at our church. Although no one had ever heard of them, after the show the youth said it was the best concert that they have been to. I was amazed at the talent and energy of the band. Not to mention the talent of the guitarist (a.k.a. The Robot). He did not even look as though he was playing, yet he was! The band had fun and told us that they would be back in August!
